The indie-pop singer-songwriter Phoebe Ryan is set to welcome 2017 in the Philippines on December 31 at Eastwood City, along with Up Dharma Down, Darren Espanto, Quest and Rachelle Ann Go.
The 26-year old star began her professional music career writing songs for various artists such as EDM stalwarts Tritonal, indie pop band Oh Honey, rapper Skizzy Mars, pop singer/actress Bea Miller, and more recently for Britney Spears, Tori Kelly, Usher, and of course, with EDM giant The Chainsmokers on the global smash hit “All We Know”.
She first popped into the blogosphere after uploading her viral cover mash-up of R. Kelly’s “Ignition” and Miguel’s “Do You” that showed off her pop sensibility and production savvy, along with her distinct, wispy vocals. She’s been compared to Ellie Goulding and Tove Lo, and has earned a nod from Taylor Swift. She inked her record deal with Columbia Records on 2015. She’s also toured with Charlie Puth, and has been scheduled to support Tove Lo’s tour February of next year.
Debuting with her very first title track “Mine” showcasing her breathy singing style, the song has accumulated 17.7 million streams and more than 1 million YouTube views (as of December 21st). Watch the full video below:
Her career made a great leap as she dropped her fun and cheeky song, “Dollar Bill” (featuring rapper Kid Ink) (3.2 million Spotify plays), the summery “Boyz N Poizn” (1.2 million Spotify plays), and “Chronic” (3.2 million Spotify plays) which is Phoebe’s playful ode to kissing California boys.
Her phenomenal collaboration with The Chainsmokers’ “All We Know” (172 million Spotify plays), released last November, showcased her impressive vocals and has swooned the hearts of the millennials.
Due to her expanding Filipino fan-base, Phoebe Ryan will be having a special performance at Eastwood City’s New Year Countdown this December 31, 2016. The event will also be having premier local artists performing. Event starts at 6:00 PM.
