Two months had passed since The Moffatts arrived in Manila for a concert at the Araneta Coliseum as a kickoff to their farewell tour. Last February 18, fans of the 90s iconic band of brothers from Canada came in droves to see their idols in the same venue they had appeared 19 years ago. However successful, for many people the experience was incomplete – Dave Moffatt, the band’s lead vocalist and keyboard player, was missing.
Band of Brothers
Scott, Clint and Bob Moffatt toured across Southeast Asia to sold-out concert crowds and took the opportunity to thank the people that had helped place them on the map as one of the biggest-selling acts and their songs at the top of charts for consecutive weeks. Dave had missed it entirely due to commitments he had at the time. At the conclusion of a farewell tour that only saw three quarters of the band, a downpour of requests and messages in various forms came Dave’s way as fans strongly expressed their yearning for the Moffatt that took the lead and had a generation singing along to the record-breaking hit “Miss You Like Crazy.”
This May 2017, Dave Moffatt makes his much-anticipated return to the Philippines, where he and his brothers remain the biggest-selling international band of all time, putting closure to his absence, embracing his fans and completing the farewell tour. In The Moffatts Farewell: Dave Moffatt Music and Yoga Tour, Dave, who has become a seasoned yoga instructor, will be conducting yoga classes and engaging in projects unique to The Moffatts and to their fans, apart from reliving the memories and the music that defined a decade. He wishes to personally give thanks and share what he can with the people whose youth he had been a special part of and who had been equally valuable to his.
An extraordinary experience
On May 27, he will be host of An Intimate Night With Dave Moffatt at the Music Museum. The show, while inescapably nostalgic, brings an extraordinary experience with a vibrant set list, audience interaction and loads of surprises, in a way that only Dave Moffatt can give. Apart from a fully packed show, each ticket comes with exclusive privileges and up to four months membership to Dave’s online yoga classes and resources. Tickets are available at the Music Museum and at TicketWorld outlets.
Beyond the phenomenal music, Dave Moffatt’s return from a long hiatus is about celebrating the people who, after all these years, are still very much here.
